Mid Week Bible Study Ideas

In need of Bible study ideas? Here we go!

Maybe you're a new Bible study leader or it's your turn this week to be the facilitator of your cell group. You need a topic badly, but...

Where do you start?

My motto is: read, pray and listen.

Turn on the radio and listen to a gospel station, news bulletin or weather report. Just listen and be sensitive to what's tugging at your heart. Is there some sort of crime report on the news? (Then fear is tugging.) If you battle with fear, the topic can be: "How to overcome fear."
Are you listening to a testimony of healing? (Then you'll probably experience joy and thankfulness.) When you're touched by an encouraging testimony, the topic might be "The importance of encouragement amongst believers."
What does the weather report say? Will it be raining tomorrow? (Then the word preparation jumps to mind - no washing or car washing gets done tomorrow..) How about these topics:
"Preparing yourself for..."
- the second coming of Christ
- Spiritual Battlefield
- the favour of Christ upon your life.

You get the idea. Just open your heart and mind to the Holy Spirit. Trust and pray to God for an idea. God speaks to us through everyday things and sometimes even through our children.

If you're part of an established Bible Study group, you can ask your members to suggest a topic. The study is after all to encourage and uplift every member of the group and if they can contribute in this way, they'll feel that they belong and that they can also give and share from themselves and their experiences.

A good tip is to choose a relevant topic that leaves enough room for discussion and sharing.

Remember: Your leader has put you in the position of Bible study leader for a reason. Do you feel uncomfortable and not capable? Congratulations, you're in the right place. There's nothing that'll fuel your Christian life like the fact that you have to leave the safe spot in your Spiritual comfort zone. Jump out and go for it. Get growing and glowing!

Be blessed as you hear from God about your next topic!
