Bible Verses For Children

Bible Scriptures To Quote With Your Kids

I created the "Bible Verses for Children" page for this website when I realized what impact the action of quoting scripture had on my life. The same Holy Spirit that guides my life is alive in our children and can guide their lives too. Therefore I started teaching my own kids, as well as my Sunday school class the value of quoting scripture.

In order to quote them, you must know them!

It's good practise to teach your kids from a young age to memorize scripture in order to quote it in times when they feel scared, unsure of themselves or even intimidated by friends. The Bible verses for children discussed on this page will encourage, uplift and speak truth into their lives.

bible verses for children Kids will only know how to do this if you teach them. Ask God's wisdom as you pray for your children regarding which scripture to quote at a given time. It may feel awkward to quote Scripture from the Bible out loud, especially if you're not used to it or if you have never done it before. This is then the perfect opportunity for both of you to grow closer to each other as well as closer to God.

As soon as you have to leave your comfort zone, it's usually a good sign that you are where God wants you to be!

Some good Bible verses to start with can be found in:

Psalm 139:14

(Bible Verses For Children)

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

This verse will grow on your child as they learn, repeat and meditate on it. It gives them the assurance that God only made "good stuff", and that they are included in His wonderful works. You can help your toddler understand the verse in this way:

Start off with "I praise you"

Then ask - who do we praise? That's right, Jesus!

Then ask - why do we praise? Because God made us wonderful!

Another question - do you know that God made you wonderful? Yes, "I know that full well"

Then read the verse again, this time to embroider it on their hearts. Repeat it often, it will grow on your child and he/she will start believing that they are able to conquer this world, because they are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God. They will start to believe that they are able!

Another great Bible Verse for a child to build self-esteem, is:

Ephesians 2:10

(Bible Verses For Children)

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

We as God's children are like a poem that He has written. He is the Master Designer and we are His work of art. "Workmanship" means a masterpiece.

Each and every child of God is a Masterpiece created by Him. Every artwork is different and unique and so are us. Now that we know that God only made "good stuff", we know that we are worth a lot in His eyes. Good artworks are expensive. God values us as something so valuable to him that no money can buy it! You are God's Masterpiece.
