Lamb Craft

This Lamb Craft can be used in conjunction with a teaching on Passover or at any time to bring the message that Jesus, like the lamb in Exodus 12:21-27 rescued the lives of the Israelites, today sets us free from sin.

Hungry kids? This craft is an all time yummy favourite! Use big and small round biscuits to teach opposites. Even macaroni found its way into this one!
Hungry kids? This craft is an all time yummy favourite! Use big and small round biscuits to teach opposites. Even macaroni found its way into this one.

Here's what you need:

 • pieces of black drop or pretzel sticks
 • round biscuits
 • white marshmallows
 • foodcoloring and toothpick
 • some butter icing
 • kitchen scissors for cutting marshmallows

Follow these steps:

1 - Cover the biscuit with a generous layer of icing. This will be the body of the lamb.

2 - Cut off about 5mm from the marshmallow. This is the head of the lamb.

3 - Place the sticky part of the marshmallow where the head should go (see photos).

4 - Now add legs: pieces of drop or pretzel sticks. You can also use toothpicks, just be mindful of the sharp edges.

5 - Dip toothpick in food coloring and draw your lamb a face.

6 - Optional for older children - Use an icing tube to further decorate the lamb.

Short application

In the Bible, the Lamb is figurative of Jesus Christ.

Read Exodus 12:21-27

The Lamb's blood on the door frames saved the Israelites. In the same way Jesus' blood saves us from our sin. This is the only way we will be able to go to heaven and live forever.

The Israelites celebrated the fact that they were saved that night with a feast called the Passover. The last Passover meal took place just before the crucifixion of Jesus. On the night of the meal (also known as The Last Supper), Jesus instructed his disciples to carry on with the Passover feast. Today this celebration is known as communion.

When we use communion, we celebrate our new life free from sin.
