Yummy Tummy Sheep Craft


Easy, quick sheep craft. Use it to teach about sharing sweets	Use this craft to teach Jesus is our great Shepherd and that we are his sheep.	Sheep are the animals that are mentioned most in the Bible. Psalm 23 probably one of the most well known chapters.

This sheep craft can be used in your Sunday School, Children's church or at home. It's ideal to teach the lesson that Jesus will always care for us and look after us and lead us on the right path of life. Perfect for a lesson based on Psalm 23.

Here's what you need:

empty toilet roll
scissors
felt tip pen
sharp object (to make a hole in the toilet role)
some brown craft paint
paint brush
4 lollipops
craft glue
odd pieces of cotton wool

Follow theses steps:

1 - Use the paint brush and paint to paint the sticks of the lollipop brown. Let it dry.

2 - Cut the toilet roll open on the side (see photo).

3 - Mark the positions where the lollies must slide through.

4 - Use the sharp object to make holes on the marked areas.

5 - Push the lollies through the holes. They form the sheep's legs.

6 - Print and cut out the sheep template.

7 - Use craft glue and stick the cut out sheep body into position.

8 - Finish off with cotton wool.

Tips:

flat lollies can also be used
if you made the holes too big and the legs are wobbly, use sticky tape to secure them firmly into position
write a memory verse on the sheep's body like in the photo below, before sticking it to the toilet roll

Short Application

In the Bible, sheep are symbolic of God's people.

In the same way that the shepherd tends to his sheep, God looks after us, his people. Sometimes when a sheep gets lost, the shepherd will do everything to find that sheep. This is how God wants to help us too when we do things that is not pleasing to Him.

Read Psalm 23:1

A good shepherd will always lead his sheep in the right direction and to the right place. How about the sheep? They should follow obediently in the ways that the shepherd leads them. If we are like the Lord's sheep, we will become good disciples.
